Project*

Our Satcoms course delegates receive one of the most thorough technical groundings of the satellite communications engineering available on the market.

Satcoms has been the leading "industry standard" satellite training course for more than 30 years.

Delegates should leave the course with a knowledge and understanding of:

  • Modulation, coding and satellite access techniques
  • Link budget planning
  • VSAT architectures
  • Spacecraft, payload, earth station engineering, design and operations
  • Applications: TCP/IP

The lecture sessions are complemented by an industry-focussed project exercise.

*We reserve the right to withdraw particular projects if there is insufficient demand.

Satcoms project

Payload design
Project presenter: Daryl Jones, Airbus Defence and Space

The project explores the outline design of a satellite communications payload with a simple transponder and the spacecraft antennas.

The exercise is to choose suitable configurations to meet the specification, including mass, gain, G/T, EIRP, linearity, and reliability.

We’re upgrading our systems, and this includes changes to our customer and member account log in, MyIET. It’s part of our big picture plan to deliver a great experience for you and our wider engineering community.

From Thursday, 17 April to Wednesday, 30 April 2025, you will still be able to register for our conferences and training courses but you will not be asked to log in.
